We have spent years analyzing whether a Diode or Alexandrite platform drives better conversion rates in a high-volume medspa setting. While the 755nm Alexandrite wavelength remains the gold standard for lighter skin tones due to its high melanin absorption, we often find that the 808nm Diode converts better for a broader demographic because of its safety profile on Fitzpatrick IV through VI. From an operator perspective, the conversion happens during the consultation when you explain treatment speed and pain management. We prefer Diodes for their lower consumable costs and built-in contact cooling, which reduces the need for external cryogen tanks that eat into your margins. However, if your patient base is predominantly Fitzpatrick I-III, the immediate clinical results of an Alexandrite can lead to higher referral rates. Ultimately, we advise choosing based on your local demographic data rather than manufacturer hype to ensure your equipment financing aligns with actual patient throughput.
